at the NA/WPN Keuring!  V Eight ("Mattie") and Virginia ("Ginny") received 1st Premiums in the foal class.
Mattie won the class and went on to be placed No. 6 on the NA/WPN Top Ten List for Foals. The judge commented that she was very expressive, very powerful in the trot with good take-off and carry. Also he remarked that she was very nice in front and correct in the legs.
Comments on Ginny included that she was a very powerful mover with good reach and carry. Our two year old stallion prospect Thatcher also received a 1st Premium. He went on to be placed No. 1 in the Top Ten List for 2 yr. old Colts. The judge's comments included that he is a very good and modern type with good pedigree and conformation. He has an especially good shoulder with good length and position, very strong in the front with uphill movement, and correct in the legs and topline.  Titanium has done it again! Titanium (Metall X Lesley W) and owner Janelle Melia participated in another schooling show where he did a training level test. "Jack" scored over 77 % under an extremely experienced rider/judge with a 9 for a canter-trot transition and 8 for gaits. We can't wait to see how he does next year in his first recognized show as a three year old. Congratulations to Janelle. Keep the good news coming! We would like to congratulate Janelle Melia, the new owner of Titanium (Metall X Lesley W). Janelle took "Jack" to a local show as a traveling experience and wound up winning the Introductory Class and the Hi Point Award for the show, this all when Jack was just over two years old. (See Jack's half sister, Virginia, in the Sales barn.) Way to go Janelle! We are very saddened to report the loss of our jumper line brood mare May Lady (Burggraaf X Ahorn Z) in July to a sudden colic. "Molly" was the earth mother of the herd and was destined to be Jim's trail horse. Molly was the sweetest mare at Zondervan Farm which was great since she was also the biggest. We will all miss her, people and horses alike. We have entered our 2002 fillies, Virginia (Jazz X Lesley W) and V Eight (00 Seven X Mistral) along with our two year old stallion prospect Thatcher (Welt Hit II X Mistral) in this year's NA/WPN Keuring. It will be held at Silver Hill Stables in Austin Texas on October 1st. | ||||||
